Bojenmi Tea – Lose Weight With Bojenmi Chinese Tea
Posted by admin on September 2nd, 2009 filed in Tea
The Chinese call it Baojianmei Jianfei, but in the United States we simply call it Bojenmi Chinese tea. It it's native country, it is used as a weight loss supplement. For over 20 years the Chinese have been extolling the benefits.
Even the name tells of the benefits. Translated "bojenmi" simply means "slim and beautiful." The tea is made available here by the Xiamen Export Corporation in Xiamen, which is an island of Fujian province. The brand to look for is the Egret River Brand.
So let's talk about the herbs that go into this wonderful blend. There are of course several ingredients, the main one being a tea leaf from the Fujian Province. Most estimates say that over half of the product has a tea leaf which will help decrease blood lipids. But it takes extracts from other herbs which are sprayed on the tea leaf which makes up the finished product. It comes in either loose tea or tea bags and is simply steeped on boiled water for about 4 minutes to prepare.
The other ingredients of Bojenmi Chinese Tea you may or may not be familiar with. A quick list included Crataegus, Malt, Pharbitis, Hoelen, Alisma, Phaseolus, Raphanus, Pogostemon, Citrus, Cassia and Shen-chu. If you are familiar with herbs at all you will recognize most of these as being traditionally used to eliminate food stagnation and enhance digestion, giving a small laxative feel. They are also used to reduce accumulating phlegm and moisture. Each of those ingredients is said to accomplish one or more of the above results.
Then consider that the combination of malt, shen-chu, cragaegus and raphanus has been shown to have other benefits for people with sluggish bowel function. Clinical trials indicate the combination will reduce intestinal cramping and gurgling, as well as decrease the symptoms of acid regurgitation and abdominal distention.
To get the maximum benefit it is recommended that anywhere from 3 to 6 grams of Bojenmi Chinese tea be taken 3 times a day. That means anywhere between 3 and 6 tea bags since each bag will contain 3 grams.
The packaging will tell you that you can still lose weight without dietary changes, but of course a lower calorie diet will speed up the process.
As for the taste, it's actually fairly mild, not unlike typical black tea. It will have a bit of a spicy or bitter taste so many people will add a small amount of a sweetener to make the taste more to their liking.
